Young Councillor Network

Established in 2024, this network provides younger councillors with peer-based support to help them thrive in complex council environments. 

We seek to empower this generation of young councillors by augmenting the tools and knowledge that they already have as community leaders.

Registration is free for councillors from VLGA member councils and $300 per annum for non-member councils.  The calendar for YCN meetings for 2026 can be found here

The YCN creates networking opportunities where councillors can share ideas, challenges and opportunities, as well as developing strong peer to peer relationships.

Through the VLGA Young Councillors Network we are ensuring all councillors – no matter age, experience, gender or background – feel supported, valued and listened to on their councillor journey.
