Governance Advisory Network (GAN)
Peer Support and Best Practice for Governance Officers
The Governance Advisory Network (GAN) is open to all officers involved in governance related roles within VLGA member councils.
The VLGA manages this peer-to-peer support group which focuses on sharing information, providing sector updates, discussing topical issues and identifying best practice in relation to council governance.
Established in 2021, this network provides a safe space for all officers in all forms of governance roles to work through complex issues so that they can support their executive leaders and councillors in delivering representative, lawful and sound decision making processes.
We seek to give governance staff a voice within the sector given the vital role they play to ensuring councils operate with integrity, transparency and fairness.
Registration is free for officers from VLGA member councils.
