Exclusive Member Benefits and Savings
VLGA member councils receive a 50% discount on all VLGA Councillor Professional Development programs. Member councils also have access to member exclusive programs and services at no cost – these include model governance policy templates, councillor ‘Lunch & Learn’ sessions, network membership including the Local Government Working Group on Gambling (LGWGOG), the Governance Advisory Network (GAN) and GovXChange Council Officer support network.
Events and networks
The VLGA holds a series of events throughout each year which are free for councillors and staff at VLGA member councils. Through the VLGA Connect online series, we bring together thought leaders and experts to provide insight and guidance on the key issues facing the sector.
We also convene highly regarded networks for councillors, including the Governance Advisory Network (GAN), Young Councillors Network (open to any Victorian councillor aged 40 or under), the Local Government Working Group on Gambling and the Victorian Local Government Women’s Charter Champions Network.
